The idea for Bear Butter all started with creator Jon Vella’s acai bowl and smoothie shop, The Spot, in Pittsfield, MA. He opened the juice and smoothie bar, located on Tyler Street, in 2018, and while trying to grow The Spot’s brand, Jon found himself eating a lot of protein balls from a coffee shop nearby.

GREAT BARRINGTON — The owner of a Pittsfield juice, smoothie and almond butter hub is opening a second location in Great Barrington this spring.
Jonathan Vella, owner of The Spot on Tyler Street in Pittsfield, is opening Bear Butter at the former location of Subway at 323 Main St. on the corner of Main and Bridge streets.
